POSITION SUMMARY: The Education and Outreach Coordinator is a dual role which functions as a strategic operational coordinator and public instructor for the Board’s Community initiatives. They will assist in the planning, development, and implementation of community relations campaigns, marketing efforts, and related events such as county fairs and community prevention activities.

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field preferred; or two to four years of blended experience in public speaking/instruction, event planning, community outreach, or facility operations. Must demonstrate exceptional communication skills. Be comfortable educating youth and adult participants in diverse environments, while maintaining a classroom environment to deliver effective presentations.  Proficiency in MS Office and Google platforms. Ability to use visual Communication tools such as Microsoft Teams or Zoom. Must be able to operate a variety of computer and audio/video equipment in office and outdoor environments. Will multitask in various environments and transition from public facing to formal encounters with community stakeholders at all levels throughout the workday. This includes setting up displays and giving presentations in a variety of indoor/outdoor public venues. Must be a team player and willing to collaborate with other team members ensuring they have the necessary supplies and resources for their events and activities. Attention to detail and problem solving are necessary to be hands on in the setup and tear down of meetings and classrooms. Must be able to think on their feet and make decisions to deliver an effective environment in order to effectively execute the scheduled training.  

DUTIES: Serve as a public face of the organization, delivering educational speeches, leading public tours of the facility, and fielding community questions. Manage the end-to-end logistics for large public campaigns, including booking, asset transport, booth assembly, and public engagement at regional county fairs and other community events. Present and facilitate established educational workshops, training sessions, and seminars to the general public and community partners. Collaborate with internal team members who teach, ensuring they have the physical space, reservation lists, and print materials prepared for their classes. Coordinate and maintain the master public calendar for all educational workshops, tracking for both self-led sessions and other staff instructors. Act as the primary gatekeeper of the facility calendar, managing room reservations and resolving scheduling conflicts for internal staff and visitors. Execute the hands-on setup and breakdown of meeting rooms and classrooms, configuring tables, seating layouts, and podium placements tailored to the day’s curriculum. Review, update, develop, and adapt educational presentation materials, slide decks, and physical toolkits to ensure they meet the specific needs of diverse community audiences. Monitor and restock the inventory of educational brochures, curriculum packets, and promotional items to keep the facility and mobile outreach booths fully operational. Manage public registration databases, track partner attendance, and compile post-workshop feedback surveys to evaluate program impact. Setup, test and troubleshoot on-site classroom technologies (projectors, video links) to ensure flawless delivery for speakers.
