POSITION SUMMARY:Miami County Public Health (MCPH) is seeking a dedicated and experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our team. This part-time position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on the health and well-being of our community through the Reproductive Health and Wellness Program (RHWP) and other Nurse Practitioner duties as needed. In addition to the RHWP, MCPH also offers prenatal care, a well child clinic, immunizations, adult physicals, and communicable disease investigations.
QUALIFICATIONS:Graduate-level degree in nursing (MSN or DNP) from an accredited program. Active Registered Nurse (RN) license and Nurse Practitioner licensure in the state of Ohio. Must have current CPR certification. Strong clinical skills, ability to work independently, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Possess valid Ohio driver’s license and maintain a driving record that meets the insurability requirements of theagency's insurance provider.Must be able to pass a background check. Prior clinical experience in a relevant specialty area preferred.
DUTIES: Deliver comprehensive reproductive health and wellness services per nationally recognized standards. Provide patient education to ensure compliance with Title X Funded Family Planning Projects. Offer onsite services to low-income individuals, including contraceptive services, pregnancy testing, basic infertility services, preconception care, STD services, annual exams, and cancer screenings. Provide telehealth services as appropriate, outreach to hard-to-reach and vulnerable populations and travel to off-site locations to provide RHWP services. Follow RHW Program Plan, grant requirements, and MCPH policies. Participate in Quality Improvement, Accreditation, Strategic Plan, Emergency Preparedness, Community Health Assessment (CHA), and Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP). Coordinate with other contracted APRNs for coverage when unavailable. Perform additional NP duties as needed that could include adult physicals, well child checks, immunization education, and communicable disease consultation.
